And COVID has surprised us before with asymptomatic transmission. But, just for clarity. We don’t know if vaccinated people will be a big infection vector. But we will know a lot more about that soon.

Nuance is not always easy to communicate, but oversimplification often backfires, especially when it's rooted in the assumption that the public is just waiting for an excuse to act irresponsibly.

One step, and I say this constructively, is to avoid talking about an "us" and a "public" that stand opposed to one another: the public the passive recipient of information and the 'us' the experts who actively inform the public.

There is a notion that there is a special class of epistemically privileged people - experts - who have the authority to inform a class of epistemically compromised people - basically everyone else - about how to live. And the only problem is how best to inform those people.
