Biden's incoming CDC director @RWalensky on year's scientific surprises: "We thought we knew how respiratory viruses generally worked. We thought it was going to be droplet, and it turns out, you know, a lot of aerosol." Another: "presymptomatic & asymptomatic transmission."https://twitter.com/JOHNJOHNSTONED/status/1335809781450166273 …

Where is the evidence for asymptomatic? If aerosol is so much of spread, why masks? Is this why mask mandates have failed to stop lockdowns?
-
Because masks work well for aerosols. This is well known and there are lots of papers on it. See http://tinyurl.com/faqs-aerosol

Agree, if SARS CoV1 was airborne why wouldn't SARS CoV2? Pacific rim nations saw this as SARS and did the things necessary and are doing well. The West saw this as a "flu"; and here we are pontificating on the "surprises" as cases and deaths mount. SMH

That’s good science and good public health in a crisis! I love how she’s so open about it.
