This has been so maddening because it has been a failure of organization, administration, strategic thinking and pragmatism. We gave up because it was too hard to...get surgical masks to everyone? Improve ventilation? Support isolation and quarantine? Approve rapid antigen tests?

We didn’t give up because the science was hard. We gave up because we lacked humility to follow a proven playbook and leadership to mobilize behind a WWII type effort to make it happen. And then the poisonous politics of an election year.
