The U.S. has 12 states that have yet to enact facemask requirements, and we have the audacity to call out the WHO? Again, the WHO has little-to-no power with enforcement of their recommendations. We have states that refuse to implement and enforce them while ~3,000 die each day.

That is a problem but it’s also not as simple as that. That also has to do with worldwide shortages of PPE and supply chain issues. Not saying WHO was right or they are above criticism but that can’t be laid exclusively at the feet of WHO.

But refugee camps are also not entire LMICs, and I just don’t think the data supports the notion that WHO recommendations have had catastrophic consequences in terms of policy. The worst outcomes have been in countries that disregarded WHO. Like the US.

I remember seeing photos of UN organizations deliberately gathering children from remote villages without tap water access to wash their hands, as part of “Wash Your Hand” campaign effort in March/April. Everyone was maskless, it was shocking to say at least....

Probably didn’t harm those children since SARS-CoV-2 probably never got there with little to none international travel, but the message it sends to people by showing maskless people crowded together to wash hand is just.....
