Yesterday, the FDA panel—no social science person on it—didn't separate out vaccine approval vote for 16-17-year-olds. Four members thus voted no to the whole thing but only because of the age inclusion. Already seeing questions & misinformation on the "no"s. Pointless own goal.

The idea that we're only facing medical issues is obviously not true, and it would really help matters if, at every level, there were more people whose focus is behavior, equity and trust. With all due respect—and I have a lot!—medical doctors can't fully fill this need.

Why is vaccines for 16-17 year olds such an issue anyway?

Has it been tested on that age group?

Lets get the vaccine out ASAP and worry about the details later -- don't delay things now. Vaccinations are prioritized and 16-17 ages would not be vaccinated until summer. By then we can have lots of discussion. Change things if neded.

That's exactly how to make this fail. Trust is a public health good.
