I actually believe it is UNETHICAL to not consider strongly using whatever you have to vaccinate as many vulnerable people in hotspots as fast as possible.

No one’s going to do this as a public health intervention because you may find in six weeks that you just wasted millions of doses of vaccine and those people are no longer protected. But yes it should be studied ASAP.

But you know the possible downside from an immunological standpoint, and dispensed with it. So, can move forward without scientists now.

The immunologists I know are pretty good at predicting the immunology of unknown viruses, based on other viruses. While they always want to wait for studies, their priors are important inputs to considering the risk/rewards.

A lot of people think that reasons not to do something are a reason not to have a discussion about something. In medicine, this can be a helpful framework to everything becoming an exception or having to make too many decisions every day - but there are indeed exceptions.

Have the discussion, my point is I think you’ve already dispensed with the need for scientists to be involved in it, whether intentional or not. You know the immunological issues. You’ve already decided they don’t matter.
