Yeah, it's pretty misleading when Pfizer cites only 52% efficacy from a single dose. Have seen several experts cite 80-85% ish efficacy instead from looking at this data.https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1337050743552036867 …

I mean, you asked for opinions from virologists and immunologists. I don't really care how my opinion is taken, but
@VirusesImmunity who is one of the world's leading immunologists addressed this yesterday. If it's not a scientific decision, why did you ask for scientific input? -
But, it's an FDA decision legally I think, but okay.

Agreed. It is just hard for the people who are in charge of these decisions to do that. They are trained from day 1 in "protocols" and the danger of making exceptions. This works great, until you have the one time you should make an exception.https://twitter.com/yellingatwind/status/1336354474806239232?s=20 …

I actually believe it is UNETHICAL to not consider strongly using whatever you have to vaccinate as many vulnerable people in hotspots as fast as possible.

The evidence from the trial indicates 10 ug < 20 ug = 30 ug in terms of induction of immune responses. I’d suggest a trial of 2 doses with 15 ug each to double the effective supply.
