So frustrating. It’s December and Americans still do not have a reliable method for getting higher-grade masks. In North Carolina, Food Lion sells KN95 masks registered with the FDA. I can’t vouch for anything else. People are at the mercy of scammers. We need a certified supply. https://twitter.com/kieniastrees/status/1336665669232979975 …

There are many seemingly reliable sources for KN 95 masks

The fear of getting overpriced crap and supporting the scammers was one of the things that made me most hesitant to move on from the few cloth masks we bought early on. Eventually found what seem to be good KN95s, but it was an "adventure."

**valved** respirators are absolutely NOT effective. If you have COVID, you're shedding the virus right out through that respirator with every breath.

A smart/prescient/"serious" President would have invoked the DPA, back in February, for N95 Masks, high grade surgical Masks, Face Shields, body PPE, and Ventilators; Trump didn't, and the PEOPLE "spanked" him, real good, 9 months later, on November 3

Please publicize the heroic work of Aaron Collins, who is videotaping himself testing all sorts of KF-94s and KN-95s and sharing sourcing information:https://www.youtube.com/user/coll0412

I've found these videos very helpful. I'm honestly mystified as to why more people in the U.S. are not promoting KF94s and reliably sourced KN95s. Seems to be abundant supply for now.

Not a replacement for official sources/info but several universities are testing mask designs and materials. Loretta Fernandez and Amy Mueller at Northeastern have methodology and findings here: https://www.masktestingatnu.com Google doc linked from that site has even more results.

I would be curious to see someone test these out. Without data, I'd consider them 'cloth masks', although they seem a bit more solid. I bought some anyway figuring it helps a local (Oregon) company: https://starks.com/products/face-masks/ …?
