I don’t see the slightest risk or inability to recruit tbh. There is no mass resignation either. They will keep recruiting just fine for their purposes is my guess, although there might be a few who refuse. Also by “responded” you mean they published a heavily legaled Google doc?

True; resignations are probably a wrong metric. Hard for people, inc'l victims, to leave one well-paying company with a culture of passive-aggressive vindictiveness for another. But we could imagine the brand over time erodes in progressive STEM communities, which might matter

Four years ago I'd say maybe. But it's been at least four years of a real backlash, and there is zero evidence of anything that causes the slightest concern for big tech really, outside of examples so rare that they each get whole articles on them.
