So frustrating. It’s December and Americans still do not have a reliable method for getting higher-grade masks. In North Carolina, Food Lion sells KN95 masks registered with the FDA. This is such backwards thinking, the N95 standard is only 10% more effective at filtering than the medical standard *if* it fits right. You don’t see anyone in Japan wearing N95s. Making medical grade masks more comfortable and socially acceptable is where the real gains are

“10% more effective” Could you clarify? E.g. if 10 people wearing surgical masks in a small badly ventilated indoor space for hours around an unmasked super-spreading individual who is positive, then if all 10 were infected wearing surgical, 9 would be infected wearing N95s?
