A study from Korea showing why indoor dining is unsafe and why airborne transmission matters. Case B infected case A from 6.5m (~21 feet!) away in *just five minutes*, and case C from 4.8m (15 feet!). Footage shows no interaction—and only those in line of air flow got infected.pic.twitter.com/Yw3Gb8INWP

Take out! If anything, I'm tempted to do more takeout with big tips just to help the restaurants survive.

that's how I'm handling it. As a restaurant critic, it's hard to be the bearer of news like this. But I look first at ventilation, along with mask wearing, even when carrying out. (If they don't offer curbside, that is.)

Same! One day every week we do take out (we pick up) from a different restaurant - no chains... I've never tipped before for take-out but now it's 20%. We are both lucky to be working so we are trying to do our part.

We drop off the tips and then go home to cook our own food. No need for the takeout.

My wife and I did that for the first 6 months of this (while I still had a job). But we also stopped ordering takeout from places that began allowing limited indoor dining. I didn't even want to go in to pick it up if there were 10-plus people in there maskless!

I understand the feeling. I try for curbside takeout if at all possible; major PPE if not. Hope you all stay safe and things look up for you. It's a difficult time.

You're "tempted" to help? Maybe give in to that urge. Your policy recommendation is economically devastating.

Containing the virus is economically beneficial. Helping or not helping small businesses is an independent political decison. Society profits from the measures economicaly and also from the public health standpoint. So the businesses should be compensated for it.
