9 - 48 hours. I’m an Arizona State University faculty member, and our saliva testing is amazingly efficient.

In Madison WI on Friday afternoon I did a drive through test and got a result on Sunday morning. No referral needed, registered online a few minutes before taking the test. Took 20 minutes from arrival to departure. They’re busy on tuesdays and wait times are longer, 3-4 hours

Voted 3-5 days, which is what Cambridge, MA municipal testing had available -- UNTIL two weeks ago, when case run-up and Thanksgiving travel rush blew demand sky high. There are still commercial walk-in clinics with some availability, but not cheap & wait times are hours.

In Minnesota you can get a saliva test in the mail, do it over zoom with a nurse watching, and ups it back from any location. It’s a good system. Free.

I think you can do this anywhere. Not sure if insurance covers it.
