There are many epi studies at this point, health care and not. I acknowledge the issue of confounding, but there’s certainly more than enough in one direction. Including latest from Kansas. Plus lab. Plus understanding from physics.

Gato, I think Zeynep is staking out the most reasonable position in the world on this. She says there’s some evidence masks help to some degree. She opposes pandemic theater. I don’t think she’s advocating violent enforcement of masks. She’s encouraging their use.

But Gato, as a wise woman once said: “What difference at this point does it make?” Masks are like the single least destructive part of all of this. There’s at least as little evidence school closings help stop covid—and possibly more that they don’t. Why the mask fixation?

I do want to see the Danish study, including with whatever has happened with compliance because that is not a minor challenge to a trial like that, but it is a PPE study. Doesn't overcome the point I make.
