My current saga. My landlord wants me to sign a new lease that gives me only two hours notice to show the house to potential buyers, upon which I am supposed to vacate the house—and if I don't do that three times, he can evict me. Two hours notice. In the middle of a pandemic.

If I refuse the new lease and stick with the existing valid one, they are trying to then increase my rent by a huge amount (the legality will have to go to courts) and claiming they will enter for showings *anyway*.https://twitter.com/fascinatorfun/status/1313214447222226945 …

Seriously, I should be working on another piece trying to explain some other aspect of the pandemic, teach and mentor my students, take care of my own stuff... It's been like this for months, and I made many reasonable offers, going out of my way. Nope, nope.

So
#NCPol question. Anyone in North Carolina regulatory offices want to chat about landlords forcing unsafe showings on tenants? I’ve learned that other states have actual guidelines on this. I’d love to be a test case! Some good out of all this stupidity. https://twitter.com/lenert/status/1313226431724285952 …This Tweet is unavailable.Show this thread
