#13 of 17: "Ventilation: Ensure ventilation systems operate properly and increase circulation of outdoor air as much as possible, for example by opening windows and doors. Do not open windows and doors if doing so poses a safety or health risk ... to anyone using the facility."
Yeah, I see it. It's way down on the list, as an afterthought, not included in the top five even though CDC has come out and said we don't see much, if any, fomite transmission. Deep cleaning is taking up time, energy and shutting down school but ventilation is down on the list.
Exactly. Thank you.
Those cost money.
Sometimes. But there are places that can just open windows for many months of the year. (I live close to a school in such an area. They are remote until January; there wasn't an even attempt to open school for the most vulnerable kids with a mix of outdoors/open windows).
Unfortunately, even if it was included many urban school systems would not be able to meet them. In this city we can’t even manage to properly cool or heat our schools- let alone safely remove the asbestos thats in them.
It’s not there bc it’s considered expensive
And no mention of filtration, whether by HVAC system or per classroom HEPA filter.
