Completely agree with @zeynep’s frustration...the common response that it wouldn’t have mattered is ... I don’t even know what words to use. I am still recovering after hearing him so accurately and coherently say the virus is in the air...not being spread by touch...https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1303756386745151488 …

All the people who have become enraged over the past 7 months when the words”in the air” were mentioned...respond “hoax” and “just the flu”. It is not rational but somehow it hit me harder to hear him explain it so perfectly. I just don’t believe those words would not have helped

One of the first widely shared studies here on Twitter offered: „droplets yes“ / „aerosols no“

I was in county just north of WA state's first case in Skagit. Remember reading what I could. Contact transfer was the big risk, but you sure as heck didn't want an infected person to breathe on you. Short supply of masks + improper use cause contact were reasons to not use.

V striking. If Trump's lucid understanding of virus transmission was borrowed from Xi in early Feb, I wonder if Xi also explained to him China's cordon sanitaire +"Crush the Curve" strategy he outlined in Feb 2nd speech to politburo https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.xinhuanet.com%2Fpolitics%2F2020-02%2F15%2Fc_1125578886.htm …https://twitter.com/70sBachchan/status/1295963308890128385 …
