Some families can manage to keep their kids learning and less-stressed. Others, with less resources, won't be able to do so. I suspect the ones left behind will pay a huge, lifelong price, will never catch up, and, sadly, show up in every research study for the next four decades.https://twitter.com/rorycooper/status/1303319674164318209 …

If I were to be cynical I’d say “my” school system is thinking twice because the parents are such a pain in the ass. It covers 160k kids from “no English spoken at home” immigrants to law partners in 6k sq ft houses and we nearly had elite led class warfare over starting HS later

I think they could, as a matter of logistics, find a way to get kids and especially vulnerable kids in buildings but the (noisy wealthier) parents would find a way to screw it up for everyone

A lot of paralysis due to liability issues, and also our bureaucratic structures penalize any kind of real leadership.

This is what put me over the edge. Where’s the creativity? The sense of urgency? We worship tech founders but the person who suggests erecting tents in parking lots for lunchtime, doing outdoor botany for science and outdoor painting for art is “unrealistic.”
