While this is a great endeavor, the problem with Wikipedia is that the (predominately white male) editorial team often simply delete articles as being "not notable", with no other justification or motivation. This has happened to articles about women scientists *frequently*.

yep, it was largely why I gave up on being part of the wiki community years ago, spend hours improving and correcting an article only to have it deleted by an admin and having no recourse other than to redo it all
