So, I showed him your tweet now and he said wait how does he know about me? I repeated, it was in an article in the newspaper! The New York Times! Somehow that fact doesn’t connect to disseminating knowledge. “I never met a weird human who reads newspapers,” he’s insisting.

A few years ago advance copies of one of my books arrived at home. Always a great moment. My wife called my then-14 year-old son over, saying, “look, your father wrote a wrote a wonderful book!” And my son replied, “How do you know?! You can’t judge a book by its cover Mom!”

A decade ago my new book was on display in a bookstore I walked into with my daughter. I asked her “what do you think of that?” She looked around and saw a bigger display. “Well you’re no JK Rowling.”
