That's just not the case, and the study itself was presented badly by the authors. You should start there. And move on to the hundreds of other reporters who reported on this. Enough pile-on here. Thanks.

There would have been no "pile on" aka "facing the backlash resulting from your dishonesty" if she had simply said "sorry we got it wrong, and we hope that we can repair some of the damage that it caused". But she tried instead to weasel out of it.
