It’s not news. The WHO didn’t openly state airborne transmission is the dominant route because they didn’t think the data was rigorous enough to warrant a public policy position (the same way they haven’t issued a mask recommendation).

And the CDC was the first US institution to point out the high probability of airbotne transmission when it explicitly referenced the Chinese bus case study.
