And related to this, a new study also says that wearing of masks doesn't give people a false sense of security or increase the risk of infection (this was one of @WHO's concerns for not recommending universal face coverings till pretty late)

I forgot to add yes, I pointed all of this out to the WHO in two meetings with the mask committee, some of the same studies and the logic of why we would not expect a false sense of security like that. This is a review article, so the evidence was already available back in March

I also pointed out to them that their claims of false sense of security endangering other measures were without evidence, not based on the literature, not a reasonable expectation given existing literature, and were presented in their guidance without citations.
