An exploratory analysis of the determinants of #COVID19 morbidity/mortality in the 50 worst affected countries. The results need to be read critically as such determinants are difficult to disentangle. Though some of the patterns are intriguing. The amount of variance explained by the model is indeed moderate. This is actually the very reason why I found the work interesting. It suggests there may be unaccounted, not necessarily trivial dynamics shaping
#COVID19 mortality between countries. -
Right. We either have really strong stochastic dynamics that determine both scale and timing (possible given the overdispersion) and/or we haven't yet discovered the Aedes aegypti of this pathogen. Mysterious and puzzling.
