When you throw out words like "fan of eugenics" it kinda weakens your case "skaffen-amtiskaw", especially since you, yourself, are a pen name. I actually know a bit of history about what "fans of eugenics" have done and do not take kindly to the word being used lightly.

Anybody who wants to write a piece about why he deserves de-anonymization should do so, but as someone familiar with history and current humanitarian crises, I'm so scared people have completely forgotten what eugenics actually means. It's not "I don't like this dude's views".

I believe the right to a pen name requires a strong arguments on the merits to violate (something I made myself before for other cases). I don't need to read SLC to make that claim. It's on people who read him to make the argument on the merits.

And "trust us, he's terrible" is no way to make the argument. Anyone who is that dangerous deserves more than a few tweets and screenshots and "trust us". Nobody will survive that process; not the deserving or the undeserving.

Tbf, you've seen at least 3 distinct examples I've seen. You've declined to consider them because of their formatting and presentation. It's true, Twitter threads can be hard to follow. But this is an unfair characterization of the argument presented to you.

The argument cannot be presented like this. I couldn't do it myself either; it's an important matter. I mean, we have something some people think is supremely dangerous & you want folks to try to figure out twitter threads and screenshots? That is not a world anyone should want.

Zeynep, this isn't fair. You're asking us to do the labor of presenting this argument to you in a way you find palatable before you'll consider it. That's not necessarily bad, but then at least say you're going to *reserve judgement* for now as a show of good faith.

Not *personally* palatable. If this guy and community are really that dangerous, yeah, people who think so should put in the work and make the case. I did when I thought something was important. What do you think happens in a "take my word for it" world? Who do you think loses?
