A "he deserves de-anonymizing" because his of his views argument is different. Does not seem to be what NYT was doing or defending. And, yes, of course, therapists deserve extra consideration for privacy and pen names! (As do many others! Pen names are a basic right).
That's a different argument.*insert terrible deed* argument for de-anonymization is not what's being talked about here. You have to separate the defense for the pen name from that; you do not want some large company to decide arbitrarily who gets to have a pen name.

I'm raising the other flag here. You raised a hypothetical, and I'm saying, "All this aside, I'm not sure it's a hypothetical." And I personally wouldn't be involved in this if there wasn't all the evidence I listed. There are more important things to worry about in 2020.
