A "he deserves de-anonymizing" because his of his views argument is different. Does not seem to be what NYT was doing or defending. And, yes, of course, therapists deserve extra consideration for privacy and pen names! (As do many others! Pen names are a basic right).
Why not? I know people who've done just that and then worked and managed to bury their legal name for breathing room. Every tiny bit of friction helps. It's ridiculous but it's true. A two-step link really decreases the loon showing up at your doorstep, no joke.

I get many do not like him or his arguments. (I haven't read that much of it). I'm not opposed to someone arguing *insert some terrible deed* deserves exposure. I just don't think sloppy; used name before; you can find it from his blog (not same as Google->blog) should be it.

I think comparing Scott to vulnerable people who have to change their names for genuine self protection obscures the fact that Scott is an immensely privileged person who wields power over vulnerable people. Demands to not use his name are in that context.
