What on earth? This is neither sane, tenable or enforcable. Many international students are also unable to travel due to pandemic restrictions. Go where and how? And why? Let them take classes like their classmates. Terrible if holds up.https://twitter.com/karinfischer/status/1280200916574978053 …

it's unclear, i think, what it means to be "fully online" … somebody suggested we set up classrooms, in which maybe nobody is there, but which display the zoom calls in person in the physical space… maybe the prof is there, maybe only some students, but maybe nobody?

I know many schools have backup podcasts available for in-person classes, so *technically* a school can hold physical classes (and discourage students from attending). Students who are enrolled in physical classes can simply not show up, using online resources exclusively.

Well, since they don't like or support higher education (except for themselves), that's a feature, not a bug.

Is it because they won't be able to return home because of travel bans on the US? I don't get it really.
