This virus is not a moral agent that will disproportionately smite young people who annoy their elders with all their fun or one's ideological enemies. It spreads with some behaviors and settings that are not in a moral or ideological hierarchy. It's not a religion, it's a virus.

It was less clear back then that large crowds at beaches was relatively safe, but it's certainly clear now that this is the case. Of course, people should still practice distancing there, but outdoor transmission just isn't as much of a threat as indoor transmission.

The beach itself isn’t the problem. It’s taking a bus or shuttle to the beach, the crowded parking lots and restaurants near it. The public bathrooms and showers.

In the only photo in the tweet that features other people, they are standing right next to each other drinking alcohol. How is that not high risk in a state currently with what CDC would estimate to be over 100,000 infections a day? (10x tested rate).pic.twitter.com/7sKTBfwuKk

It is way lower risk then them standing next to eachother at a bar or an indoor house party, which is where they'd probably be if the beach was closed!

It's exhausting & nothing sinful about beaches. What IS sinful is zoning & development effectively making beaches private and funneling the public into crowds. Bad before COVID, and worst now. Grim reaper should focus on THAT. With any luck, he'll have a heat stroke instead.
