I think it's less the writer and more that a lot of the people involved are refusing to comment, because they're worried about their social standing.

As a totes armchair epi, this is one of the rare clusters associated with an outdoor event I came across. And details are super skimpy because the rich people involved have all clammed up, and photos deleted. This should really be studied! But we did have this from the article:
