Can we please have a talk with the photo editors? ENOUGH WITH THE BEACH PICTURES ruining articles.😡 Beaches are one of the least risky environments. Indoor bars and restaurants. House parties. Indoor gatherings where unmasked people talk. Not beaches.https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/25/us/coronavirus-cases-young-people.html …

But there are articles and studies showing outdoor social activities are also fertile ground for the virus. Like beach parties.. The possibility is low, but not zero risk. So it is always the precautions and calculation of the risk, both in/outdoorshttps://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/26/parties-and-raves-across-europe-spark-fears-of-covid-19-surge?CMP=share_btn_tw …

Those "fears" have not led to actual spikes, though. The number of "fears" articles I read with no follow-up is astounding. Yes, outdoors is a slight risk, but so much much much less than anything indoors.

What I am saying is as individuals we should always just calculate the risk. I was also in a packed beach myself this week, of course I felt safer than being in a packed shopping mall. But I also felt 'the fear' thinking this is not supposed to be this way during the crisis.

I just wish they’d use of pictures of more high-risk things.

Being in a store presents much more risk bc of recirc air. One of the issues in AZ & TX is people staying indoors, but not home, because it is hot. We know there is some viral slowing in heat & humidity (beaches), but in hot areas, everyone is inside. Which is why we need masks.
