Not good! NYT lets Bansky have a pseudonym and I know people hired by/write for NYT using a pen name. Short of him being an immediate danger to other humans, no justification here to use his real name even if it wasn't a big secret because NYT will dominate google results.
Maybe your history? When I did it few days ago, I saw nothing. When I do it now, remotely suspect stuff (not even direct but hints that might get a sleuth going) isn't there till page seven. One NYT article would change all that. That kind of friction is a huge difference.

Before all this, normal patient that doesn't suspect blog would likely never encounter it. Very different than someone already reads his blog wants to find real name.
