What's the best data you've seen on masks and #SARSCOV2 transmission prevention?

Also did you see these? Fauci and even some WHO folks are openly saying they withheld mask recommendation, despite evidence, because of the shortage. Way to lose trust!https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1275798134556368896 …

"False sense of security" argument is paternalistic; devoid of data; largely harmful when we already have a cultural aversion to masking in parts of this country; certainly worth further study from behavioral economics side of things, but largely useless to guide strategy now.

Everything we know about human behavior (signaling, solidarity, stigma) argues for universal mask wearing, plus false sense of security has been claimed *so often* and researched so much and always found to be dwarf by safety gains. I'm so baffled by popularity of pop psychology!

okay..debate continues. you call masks "high pay off". Dr. Brosseau, who has spent her career in this technical field..says no. Ironically, you are ignoring science. please read the Osterholm invu transcript. it's very informative and he agrees it's a complex issue
