This paper is not showing that at all, tbh. Diarrhea searches in August aren't proof for COVID. "(GI) symptoms are a unique feature of COVID19" is not accurate. Hospital parking lot increases do not indicate COVID. I read the paper and had to duck from all the hand-waving.

The virologic samples do not match "citation" is a Chinese propaganda outlet known for trying to deflect the origin of the virus. (No other citation, because this is not known because this research has been censored by China, something widely reported).

With all due respect to the authors, they should take this down and consult with some people. The "evidence" ranges from too-thin-to-publish to not accurate. Not against the method, SARS in 2003 had an actual signal from online rumor analysis, but this isn't it.
