I don’t see it honestly. I was a Covid hawk back when some public health authorities were saying masks were racist. Greg is the one trying to score points here.

Yeah, because of the incalculability of effectiveness of the protests, and of how much they would help improve health outcomes even if they are effective, I don’t think the public-health justification for the protests is a strong one. But I also don’t think it’s necessary.

I feel like saying these protests have some risk, but protesting is important, is enough. I just think that would also apply to things like funerals or religious services.

My very naive model at this point is that widespread video footage of police instigating violence against protesters has increased public support greatly for the protesters. But does the *size* of the protest groups significantly impact their chances of success?
