Why does Outlook sometimes treat emails in my inbox as unread even after I've opened and read them?

Because you are not their customer and they don't care the product sucks, and that's how monopoly works even after decades of being weakened. Seriously, that's my answer to why Microsoft products are so terrible.

Not even kidding, I came here to escape my new Outlook account and saw these tweets. I am so bad at it.

Sorry! Honestly, these products are so bad that if it were the Middle East, we'd be asking "okay, who's the in house bro-in-law to the vendor?" Here, it's, ah, okay persistent monopoly effects. I mean, in our scenario, we could at least ask for some baklava as side compensation.

For baklava I'd pretend to like it.

See, the upside of Middle Eastern style corruption is that you don’t have to pretend you like Outlook to get the baklava. In fact, you can and should loudly complain! Here, we have to act like there was some sort of choice, hidden hand of the market blah blah *and* no baklava!
