After much (automated) nagging, I finally did the mandated "security awareness training" at my university I.. have opinions. No, people can't learn to easily recognize phishing by examining the URL bar and yes, writing down your password is okay depending on the threat model.

Also companies should assert to never send links in email. They should put easy to click new features and ideas on their homepage, and tell you to load their homepage and click it. We should all have a rule to never click any link in any email

That’s not a good rule. However, you have made everyone in marketing happy because no one will ever be able to unsubscribe from a newsletter ever again!
