Well, it’s how many Americans lived in the 1800s. Out on the prairie, spaced out. But better if you include broadband satellite internet and the earning power of the internet megalopolis. Physical regression to the past, digital progression to the future?

They lived much closer than you think on the prarie. They also had lots of community organizations to bring people together. They were not hermits.

That’s right. Humans are, mostly, an intensely social species. And that means in person, mostly. Digital extension is fine, but as extension for most.
