Ha. This is a great point. Correlation often does imply causation. But it doesn't *prove* it, which is why it is a logical fallacy to argue only that.

That is basic but also true. It's a place where we start looking. We don't stop there, but people now think it means correlation isn't giving you any signal or even that it just debunks something!
