California did everything right, shutting down the state before it needed to. Deaths per 100,000: 5. Florida and Texas did everything wrong, acting too late, leaving beaches open. Deaths per 100,000: Florida: 6, Texas: 3.

You're pointing out similarities in order to ignore differences. Connectivity (e.g., how many infections were coming in from China and Europe) and density of population are key differences. LA or Bay area could have looked a lot more like NYC if they didn't act early.

A Costo is not the same. A meeting room (sitting around a table), or a church (singing) or ... have extended periods of close contact. That is the danger. For Costo - masks and hand sanitizer on entry and exit and you should be good. Beaches should be ok too.

I think there’re Covid deaths that have yet to be counted. Deaths attributed to other things bc they weren’t tested. CA is more densely populated state where TX has huge land mass & towns scattered. TX & FL don’t have good pub transprt where some CA cities do.

Last I checked (4/20) the share of 65+ fatalities from nursing homes was actually a little higher in FL vs. NYC. It's just that the hospitalizations and deaths/case are substantially lower in FL, despite a similar case age distribution. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯https://twitter.com/MicheleZanini/status/1252207007324680192?s=20 …

Are you arguing that Florida nursing homes are a good control case?
