California did everything right, shutting down the state before it needed to. Deaths per 100,000: 5. Florida and Texas did everything wrong, acting too late, leaving beaches open. Deaths per 100,000: Florida: 6, Texas: 3.

I mean, there is interesting and unexplained variations and comparisons that I don't think anyone has yet explained, but Texas/CA isn't a good control case. OTOH, Florida nursing homes are probably important to watch and understand.

Crowded indoor areas is a relatively mute point. Just look at Walmart and home improvement foot traffic increase. If those aren’t enough, look at some of the prison testings being done... specifically, Lakeland Correctional Facility in Michigan. They’ve tested all inmates.
