Crowded grocery stores, the NYC subway where many still don’t wear masks... Those can wreak havoc. But why such concentrated outrage at something that looks quite sensible? (Not defending Florida’s other actions. Beaches kept open with distancing seem very sane and sensible.)

I get the feeling but that’s not science. That’s anxiety. Also I get that people are mad at other misguided policies in Florida. Fine. But I’ve yet to see an actual beach picture that warrants a concern at all proportional to the beach outrage.https://twitter.com/riskybusiness/status/1251710752664125446 …

How spaced out are the primary paths to get to the beach?

Yeah I live near a beach and people freak out if there’s more than 20 people on it. It’s huge tho. I think there’s this reflex that fun and enjoyment are bad.

It’s also Florida which is our nations punching bag

That's what ive been thinking. Concerned about walkways too beach, bath rooms etc. I wouldn't go, but giving people outdoor spaces to get air is valuable.

Look at the walkways to get to and from the beaches. No way they stay separated. Also, I see a lot of large groups together.

I don’t understand the beach outrage either, or the pandemic shaming in general.
