Many people have long been advocating for exactly that. NIH just recently launched a small national study of 10,000 people. My own lab is beginning to attempt to do this with a representative sample in New Haven area. It’s too bad that there isn’t an organized national effort.

Denmark has over/just before Easter tested 20.000 employees at hospitals in Copenhagen for antibodies. 4.1% positive. They aim to test all 40.000. Not 100% sure about sampling procedure, don't think they have targeted people with symptoms.

Interestingly, I have seen similar serosurveys in the USA resealing in similar levels of antibody prevalence in American health care workers. Do you have a citation for the Danish study?
