Aside: Aren't airbags actually the most (marginally speaking) beneficial to folks not wearing seatbelts or wearing them improperly?
-
Playing it through in my head, the airbag behaves like an exercise ball and prevents the unrestrained torso from engaging with the steering wheel, helping the head along its journey toward the windscreen. So no marginal value. My head is not a test lab though but.

As soon as I put on a mask my social distancing went to hell. It's better now, but it's still not as good as without. Is everyone still better off if I wear a mask? yes. But these effects are real, and there is a calculation involved.
-
The narrative that "it's very simple, and the CDC and WHO are a bunch of morons or criminals for not seeing how simple it is" is wrong, which fact *in* *no* *way* conflicts with the apparent reality that masking is a good idea.
