As I read the thread, it is more an indictment of your societies than anything else. The proper response to this pandemic requires social cohesion and it exposes countries where it is lacking, as evident when you compare Canada to the other anglophone countries that are mentioned

At the local cafe, we keep our distances when we sit outside and we police ourselves, asking politely to pull away if someone moves into our space. Obviously, we account for couples that share germs anyway. Social cohesion means we don't have to deal with 'fuck you' attitudes.
