Taiwan has had schools open since February, though they all wear masks. (https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/03/13/814709530/with-odds-against-it-taiwan-keeps-coronavirus-corralled …) I tried to track if there were known kid as index case in a cluster a while back. There was one reply, see below.https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1242573603993841664 …

Does anyone know of confirmed cases/studies of children being vectors? I know they can be at risk and infected (asymptomatic or ill); I know the flu and school closure stats. But I was wondering about the state of evidence which seems lacking so far. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/22/health/coronavirus-restrictions-us.html … pic.twitter.com/aRIbFmkq4w

I know, right? I mean kids are less likely to show symptoms, but not one? Not a single one? This one really needs looking into. A lot of stakes either way! Maybe we should not cluster children of our most essential health-care workers! Maybe we should consider opening schools!

Someplace with widespread testing and tracing will hopefully look into this, with some indication either way in a proper paper.

I think it's the testing shortage: short-term urgent things are eating up things that are quite important. Plus, there seems to be an unspoken assumption because of the 1918 influenza example. But that doesn't necessarily carry, even victim age profile very different.

One obvious example of child-to-adult transmission would be teachers catching it from their students. I haven’t heard of any cases where that was identified yet.
