Weirdest speculation with no evidence and people still cling to it. Similar with the "incorrect wearing is more dangerous" stuff. No evidence nor is it a coherent idea. It's hard for smart/credentialed people to admit they were wrong and/or late so here comes post-hoc excuses.

In Australia they're refusing to educate the public on how to use a mask correctly. Short 60-90 second PSAs on tv and YouTube ads would be all it takes.
