😱OMG....the Trump Administration not only downplayed the seriousness of the #CoronavirusPandemic (despite warnings since January), they gave #China *nearly 18 tons* of key medical supplies—including VENTILATORS. @SecPompeo POSTED VIDEO.🤬 h/t @File411pic.twitter.com/aJdUU5O8vr

You would rather people in China die of lack of ventilators at the peak of their epidemic? That's heartless. Ventilators should go to wherever the epidemic is peaking. If China is not sharing them back now, that is indeed a complaint—not if we did the right thing then.

This will be a long lasting ping pong game of ressources and allocate them wherever they are needed the most. We will try to help each other out fast. Some governments we may have to talk over.

Point is trump has stated no one saw this coming. We did see it coming and now we are left without PPE. Maybe we should have kept some for ourselves.

Sending ventilators likely blunted/slowed the spread globally since it likely kept China's case from increasing by preventing collapse of their hospitals. What we should have done is to ramp up our own production at the same time.

What Cuomo has been saying is that that they should be passed around according to need. I'd be very happy if US ventilators helped save Chinese lives and now can be put to use here, starting in NY and then, God help us, moving across the country.

Context is critical. I support helping other nations. However, the Trump Administration repeatedly misled the American people, did NOT prepare for the oncoming #pandemic, and now, has left us woefully short of critical supplies.

You only send the supplies if you’re sure your citizens don’t need them, and if you have ramped production to ensure projected needs. Both conditions were false. Trump had literally just been briefed that America was facing critical immediate shortages of PPE and ventilators.

Logically, why would Trump authorize "humanitarian" aid out of America's strategic national security supply for a health crisis he publicly called a hoax? Also, why were Chinese agents covertly buying up that same equipment throughout NATO/allied countries?
