I was thinking this too, but @zeynep makes a convincing case that seems to cite credible scientific evidence. I'd like to see a formal response from someone at who tbh
So how is it contaminated? Option one, you're already infected but don't know it. In which case, everyone should wear masks. Option two, your hand touched something infected and then you adjusted your mask. Much better than touching face directly. Then everyone should wear masks.

It really doesn't make sense. We're genuinely in Saddam had WMD territory here. It pains me to say this about the WHO, it really does.

See my question is as someone who knows nothing about bio, this comes down to trust, and I while the case you make makes sense, I'd prefer if somehow you could demonstrate that your view is scientific consensus before agreeing that the WHO lied to the world

Touching face regularly, making adjustments after touching a high-contact surface, etc. I frankly don't appreciate your incredulity, because this seems very plausible to me as someone who had to train himself not to touch his face in a wet chem lab.

Compared to no masks though. That’s why the actual comparison isn’t hazardous situation.
