Newsom has been doing community surveillance testing in a few places such as in Santa Clara, CA but I don’t know if the results have been reported.

California is not doing any sort of generalized random testing. There have been some studies/efforts, but this is not a large-scale policy here.

NYTimes reported yday that NYC now with severe shortage of tests and testing supplies - sending saliva sample in urine cup to our Quest here in CA. Theoretically, mass testing and mass masking would be great, but we don’t have the goods so we need to use other strategies.
