Ok folks! What's your weirdest panic purchase? I'll start. I bought 5lbs of French Gray Salt. Now you go!

I had hand injury and wasn’t able to travel Dec-Jan. I started making soup from scratch at home. Fun. Needed bay leaves. Ordered one without checking size. A few weeks later, I forgot and ordered again to prepare for COVID-19. I have enough bay leaves to ride out any apocalypse.pic.twitter.com/kVWStAw7AE

That's a kind of classic recipe. You use the bay leaf to hold a thick batter. It gives a lovely flavor. You dont eat the leaf. Just bite off the dough from it, sort if like slide it off

8 small bay leaves per batch... Okay. *emerges three months later with a chest freezer full of bay leaf fritter*pic.twitter.com/kFnfJT7nKn

It looks yummy, though, thank you! Will now hunt for anything missing at home needed for the recipe, and will end up with seven carts of lemon for the rind and enough fruity white wine to last out the next apocalypse. Sounds like a plan!
